Two burglaries were reported to the Jefferson Police Department on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The first report came in at approximately 7:46 a.m. that the Central Christian Church in the 100 block of North Elm St. had been burglarized sometime overnight. The unknown suspects had damaged several doors to gain entry, then took a computer, electronic equipment and cash. The officers located and collected fingerprints and other evidence and will be checking local surveillance video in the ongoing investigation. The second report was received at approximately 10:06 a.m., involving a burglary from a vehicle in the 300 block of North Vine. The department is investigating the theft of a wallet and tools from that vehicle.
