One More Test And Some Tweaking, And Carroll Well Will Be Ready To Go Online

Work on the transmission main for a new Carroll water supply well began in 2015, and since that time, the city has conducted a series of disinfecting procedures. Now that the process has been completed, Director of Public Works, Randy Krauel says they are in need of an additional test.

Krauel says after extensive discussions with the contractor, they are requesting a change order to increase the cost of the contract by the $2,400 it takes for the pressure and leakage testing. The original contract for just over $752,700 was already increased earlier in the process with the first change order of more than $37,400.

Krauel presented the change order to city council members on Monday night. Councilman Clay Haley asked Krauel if this final procedure would bring the well online.

The council unanimously approved that change order.
