Close Call In Semi Versus Car Accident Monday Near Scranton

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of another close call on Monday morning, only about 10 minutes after a semi-tractor trailer nearly went into the bridge construction on Highway 30. This time, they were called to a semi-tractor trailer versus car accident on Highway 30 and Eaton Ave. outside of Scranton. Sixty-five-year-old Roger Beckman of Carroll was driving a 2004 International semi and was attempting to pass a 2003 Buick Rendezvous, being driven by 17-year-old Victoria Johnson of Scranton. When he pulled out into the other lane, he saw an oncoming vehicle and was forced back into his lane of traffic, striking the driver’s mirror on the Buick in the process. There was only minimal damage, no injuries were reported and no citations were issued for the incident.
