It will be a lighter than normal agenda Monday, Sept. 25 for the Carroll City Council, but there are several items of significant importance that will be discussed. City Manager Mike Pogge-Weaver says one of those is a review of some existing police department policies that are in need of updating and the drafting of a new one.
Pogge-Weaver says a lot of cities across the state are looking to implement the new policy in regard to critical incidents. The council will also be asked to support a resolution naming the week of Oct. 2 through Oct. 6 as City Week.
On Friday, Oct. 6, the Rec Center will celebrate with a Chamber Coffee, several different presentations throughout the day, lunch with the mayor, Dr. Eric Jensen, and a free airing of the movie, “Sing.” There will also be free admission, free fitness classes and free refreshments all day. A flyer on those events can be found below. Council members will also be setting a public hearing for the easement property transfer for Biokinemetrics and the Carroll Brewing Company that was discussed at the last meeting and they will review a change order for work done on the water supply well and transmission main. The meeting will convene at 5:15 p.m. in the second-story council room at the Farner Government Building. The public is encouraged to attend.
