There are a lot of reasons for the headaches in our lives, but if you or a loved one are experiencing severe ones or having frequent episodes, St. Anthony Regional Hospital wants to help. They will be hosting the free, educational community event, “Let’s Talk About Headaches,” to give everyone a chance to ask questions, voice their concerns or simply learn more. On Wednesday, Oct. 11, St. Anthony neurologist, Dr. Blanca Marky, will lead the discussion on how to manage headache challenges. She will talk about the variety of causes, available treatments and prevention before taking questions from the audience. “A headache can get in the way of enjoying life, and recurring headaches present special challenges to engaging in the daily activities of life,” Dr. Marky says. “Tension headaches, migraines and cluster headaches are types of headaches we see often. But with so many reasons for headaches, I want to help people sort out when to seek professional advice and when lifestyle changes can make a difference in preventing or changing the course of the headache,” Marky adds. This session of the “To Your Health” community education series will be held at the Carrollton Centre and start with a social hour at 6 p.m. The presentation and discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. Details on how to register can be found below.
