Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education member, Jen Munson, will continue to serve as the board’s president for the next year. Munson was elected unanimously by her fellow board members at the district’s annual organizational meeting earlier this week. Jon Sampson was selected to serve as board vice-president. In addition to selecting officers, committee assignments were made for the year. Duane Horsley will serve as the board’s delegate at the upcoming Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) convention and act on the Carroll Education Association (CEA) and Carroll Educational Support Association (CESA) negotiation teams. Gina Badding will serve as an alternate IASB delegate, work with Horsley on negotiations as well as be the IASB Legislative Network liaison. Brad Jorgensen will be a part of three separate teams: the At-Risk Advisory Committee, School Improvement and Transportation Committee alternate. Munson has a role on the School Improvement and Calendar Fact-Finding teams. Sampson fills a board position on the Transportation Committee and acts on the County Conference Board. These appointments are in effect until the next annual organizational meeting in September of 2018.
