Whiterock Hosting Star Party Public Viewing Tonight

There is no disputing Whiterock Conservancy’s claim that they are home to some of the darkest skies in the state, and tonight is the perfect opportunity for area stargazers to see how the lack of ground light makes those stars shine even brighter. From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., they will be hosting their Star Party Public Viewing. This free event will offer attendees the chance to use telescopes set up by Ames Area Amateur Astronomers. After a brief presentation, visitors will be able to search for some of the planets, other galaxies, nebulas and stars that are shining from millions of light years away. All ages are welcome, so bring a blanket and a friend or family member and just relax and enjoy the light show.
