SMCH And McCrary Rost Clinics Adding Behavioral Health Services

More than 26 percent of Americans 18 and older are suffering from a mental health disorder and 46 percent are predicted to have a mental health disorder over the course of their lifetime. Just like any medical illness, these disorders can be treated with medication and therapy, and Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City and McCrary Rost Clinics, in partnership with Rural Behavior Health, are now offering treatment services for their patients. They will be providing behavioral health services to those suffering from depression, anxiety, post-partum depression, anger management issues and attention deficit disorder. Treatments will be individualized and unique for each patient utilizing psychotherapy, family and couples’ therapy, grief counseling and medication evaluation. Therapists will work closely with medical providers and other professionals to provide the best overall medical care. “We continue to work diligently to keep our patients in their own communities for as many health care services as possible,” says Chief Nursing Officer, Kari Jones. “We are very excited to be able to offer behavioral health services in three of four of the communities we serve. We continue to recruit for the Gowrie area,” Jones adds.
