Luckily, no fire or major smoke damage occurred at a Carroll residence early Thursday morning. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says that the department received a call of light smoke at 1350 Highland Drive at approximately 6:18 a.m. An investigation revealed that a motor in the HVAC system had burned out and ignited a small portion of the home’s air filter. The fire department was on the scene for about 15 minutes to help clear the haze. The Carroll Police Department and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the call.
