One person has died as a result of a single-vehicle rollover accident in Guthrie County Thursday afternoon. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene of the accident near the intersection of Frontier Rd. and 280th St. about nine miles southwest of Guthrie Center. An initial investigation shows 23-year-old Tyler Rutherford, of Guthrie Center, was traveling northbound on Frontier in a 2005 Ford F350 and dropped onto the right shoulder. He lost control of the truck and rolled several times, coming to rest in the east ditch. Rutherford was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office and Adair Fire and Rescue.
