Grassley To Stop In Harlan Thursday

This coming Thursday, Aug. 31, Senator Chuck Grassley will be hosting a town meeting at the Harlan Community Library. This one hour event, from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., is part of his 99-county annual tour and is open to the public. Grassley says with the country now eight months into the new presidency and the new Congress, Iowans are as plugged in as ever to public policy and politics. He says this August, health care insurance is dominating the conversations he is having during his tour. He has shared with attendees his embarrassment that Congress has not yet reached a consensus on fixing the flaws with Obamacare and that access to affordable health care coverage is a primary concern. Grassley and Senator Joni Ernst are working with state officials to help Iowa obtain a waiver from the federal government to provide more affordable coverage in the individual markets until more permanent solutions are reached in Congress. This stop in Shelby County is one of 30 that Grassley is making in August at community centers, schools, factories, hospitals and local businesses across Iowa.
