Carroll Man Sentenced To Up To Five Years On Third OWI Charge

A Carroll man has been sentenced to up to five years in prison after he was arrested for the third time on operating while intoxicated charges. On Thursday, Aug. 24, 33-year-old Zachary James Farrow entered a guilty plea to the class D felony charge. He was ordered to serve a 30-day jail term, and pay a $3,125 fine, a more than $1,000 surcharge, restitution and court fees. The remaining portion of his sentence is suspended dependent on the completion of his jail term by Dec. 31, 2017 and a three-year probation period. The charge stems from a May 6 incident in which Farrow fled from authorities at speeds up to 98 miles per hour with a blood alcohol content of more than double the legal limit at 0.187 percent. As part of the plea deal, three other counts in the case were dropped.
