The application deadline for the 2018 Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program is drawing near on Sept. 30. This program integrates technical landscape planning and design techniques with sustainable community action to assist community leaders and volunteers in making sound and meaningful decisions about their local landscape. The planning process includes experts from Trees Forever, a private-sector landscape architect and the Iowa State University Department of Landscape Architecture. The Greene County community of Scranton, with a population of 550, was selected to participate in the 2017 program. Other area communities who have participated include; Manning; Vail; Manson; Churdan; Guthrie Center; Kimballton; and Sac City.
