Dusty Conditions Thought To Play Role in Two-Vehicle Accident Monday

Dust on a gravel road is blamed for a two-vehicle accident on Monday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene on 170th Street at approximately 1 p.m. to find that a 1994 Chevrolet C2500, operated by 69-year-old James August Rohe of Breda, had been towing a goose neck trailer and stopped on the side of the gravel road to close a door on the toolbox. A 1988 Ford F250, driven by Donald John Hoffard of Sac City, struck the trailer. Both drivers sustained minor injuries to their arms and were transported by private vehicles for treatment. There was an estimated $750 in damage to the Hoffard vehicle and $3,000 in damages to the Rohe truck and trailer.
