Door-To-Door Peddlers Looking To Trade Meat For Drugs

Door-to-door peddlers in Jefferson have been turned in to authorities for attempting to negotiate a trade for pain medications. The Jefferson Police Department reports that at approximately 1:39 p.m. on Monday, a resident contacted them about two male subjects in a silver truck who stopped at her home and offered to sell her steaks. When she declined the offer, they then asked about trading the steaks for specific prescription pain medications. She told the officer that she asked them to leave her property, then called to report the incident. The officer found no registration for door-to-door sales was on file at City Hall and they were unable to locate the vehicle. Anyone who is approached by the two men is asked to contact their local authorities.
