Staff members from the Piranha Club in Carroll presented a $400 check to Animal Rescue of Carroll. Several weeks ago, staff members got together and brainstormed an idea to raise funds for an organization in town and the shelter was selected. Members of the community were invited to join in the fundraising efforts with drinks, food and live music. John Daiker, with the Piranha Club, says even the band during the fundraiser helped out.

Animal Rescue of Carroll completed a new facility late last year and are now debt-free on the structure. One of the most difficult parts of running a non-profit is covering the operating costs. Animal Rescue Director, Sammi Elliott, says this donation will go a long way in covering those costs.

Spaying or neutering an animal can cost upwards of $100. Every cat or dog rescued receives this treatment before being adopted out. In order to keep running, Elliot says they are largely dependent on public donations.

Animal Rescue of Carroll has several dogs and dozens of cats and kittens available for adoption. Adopting a pet is quick and easy and makes a huge impact on that animal’s life. Check the link included with this story on our website for more information on donating, volunteering or adopting.
