After an investigation into the theft of items from several vehicles that occurred the weekend of June 10, the Carroll Police Department has reported the arrest of three juveniles. Chief Brad Burke says the three were arrested early this morning (Tuesday) and include a 13-year-old male from Carroll, a 13-year-old male from Ames and a 16-year-old male from Lake City. All have been charged with burglary in the third degree and the 16 year old has also been charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart. The three juveniles have been released to family members and their cases have been forwarded to the juvenile courts. Burke reports that items taken over the last week have not yet been recovered. The majority of theft reports for that time period came in from residences to the north of 18th Street and Main Street to the east as well as in the water tower area.
