It has been months since the Jefferson community learned they had been awarded a $1 million Community Development Block Grant, but projects will be getting underway this week. According to Jefferson Matters: Main Street Director, Peg Raney, Pinnacle Construction of Glenwood will be starting three of the 13 building renovations with Don’s Ace Hardware, Muir Embroidery and MacDonald Insurance. Raney says these are the projects requiring the most work. The Iowa Economic Development Authority grant requires a $250,000 match from the city and the downtown business owners.
