Western Days Just Around The Corner In Lake City

Lake City’s biggest event of the year, the Western Days Rodeo, is set to take place on the weekend of June 24 and 25 and the Lake City Betterment Committee is putting on a host of events to accompany the occasion. The festivities begin Friday evening with a beer garden from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m downtown. At 8 a.m. Saturday morning, vendors open up shop around the town square. While the event has a western theme, Betterment Board President, Tiffany Green, says the vendor options available appeal to everyone.

The Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. A parade is scheduled to start around 1:30 p.m. It will begin near Shady Oaks and travel down Highway 175, ending near the Sparky’s Convenience Store. Anybody can participate in the parade, and a link to the registration form can be found included with this story. According to Green, they have added a new event to the agenda this year.

Teams can register for $10 per team. First and second place finishers will receive prizes. The rodeo begins on Saturday at the Top Rail Saddle Club at 7 p.m. and a second session will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. A link to the full schedule of events can be found included below.
