After over 40 years of getting people up and shakin’ their booties, KC and the Sunshine Band are setting out on another world tour and are busy releasing new music. On Friday, their latest single, “Movin’ Your Body,” debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Dance Chart. This marks the fourth consecutive Billboard Dance chart single for the band, and founder, Harry Wayne Casey.
As part of their world tour, the band will be performing at Wild Rose Casino and Resort Jefferson on Friday, June 9, with one show at 8 p.m. before heading to Hyde Park in London, England later in the month. Casey says their show still has a lot of appeal to a wide range of listeners, from babies to grandmas, and that it is not uncommon to have four generations at one time come up to talk to them after the show. The Grammy Award-winning group has sold more than 100 million albums and will be giving the audience in Jefferson what they want with some of the favorite selections that brought a new type of sound to the music scene beginning in 1973.
Casey says people can expect to see a lot of sequins, but done in a more contemporary style, as well as to hear at least one of the newest singles. However, they know exactly what people are coming to their show to see and hear.
