Sauk Rail Trail Spring Fundraiser Exceeds Expectations

The second annual Sauk Rail Trail Spring Fundraiser took place on a cloudy, rainy and dreary day yesterday (Sunday) at Whiskey Run in Maple River. But that weather did not keep people from showing an unbelievable amount of support for the trail system with more than $14,000 raised, an increase of more than $12,400 from their first year total of $1,600. Organizer and trail supporter, Dr. Frank Greteman, says the outpouring of support from the communities the trail serves was phenomenal.

Greteman says there are a lot of plans in place to use the proceeds raised.

Even though the spring fundraiser has concluded, Greteman says there are still many other ways that people can support the trail system that runs from Swan Lake State Park to Black Hawk Lake in Lake View.

The trail pass covers trail maintenance at a fee of $15 per year, $250 for a single lifetime pass or $350 for a couple’s lifetime pass. More information about day, season or lifetime passes is available at the Carroll County Conservation offices in the Swan Lake Education Center or by logging on to their website through the link included below.
