Residents in the City of Manning will be heading to the polls tomorrow (Tuesday) for a special election. City Manager, Dawn Rohe, says the election is seeking community approval to bring the separate boards for each Manning utility into one board that will oversee all departments. Rohe says, technically, they have three different boards, one for gas, one for light and one for electric. Currently, however, the seats on those boards are filled by the same people, and those same individuals will continue to serve. There will still be three separate entities, but they will be governed by one board. The election will begin at noon Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with polls open until 8 p.m.
