The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reports one impaired driving and two drug arrests over the past weekend. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 32-year-old Amanda Sue Wicker of Harlan was pulled over by a deputy on Highway 71 Near 180th Street north of Audubon. She was found to be in possession of marijuana, her third offense. She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. On Saturday, April 29, another traffic stop was conducted on Highway 71 near the intersection with 250th Street, south of Hamlin. Twenty-year-old Verlyn Duane Richardson, Jr. of Ankeny was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred. Richardson was transported to the Audubon County jail where he was being held on a $2,000 bond. And at around 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning, a traffic stop on Highway 71 and Littlefield Drive near Exira, resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Zen Henry Gross of Atlantic. Gross was charged with operating while intoxicated first offense.
