The Carroll Police Department is awaiting results of the toxicology screening from an autopsy completed last week in the death of 45-year-old Christina Underberg of Carroll. Chief Brad Burke says a call came into the Carroll County Communications Center at approximately 11:22 p.m. on Saturday, April 15 of a female at 518 South Main Street who was unresponsive and not breathing.
Burke says there was no visible trauma to Underberg, so the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy. The Carroll PD also took preemptive measures at the scene.
Even though that autopsy has been completed, lab results are needed before a formal cause of death can be announced.
It is expected to take approximately four to six weeks for those test results to come back.
