High Speed Chase Results In Arrest Of Two Carroll Women

An attempted traffic stop led to a high-speed pursuit through Carroll and the arrests of two Carroll women Friday afternoon. At approximately 12:47 p.m, a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by 24-year-old Fermerra Lampe, ran a stop sign at the intersection of Mahogany Avenue and 220th Street near Swan Lake State Park. A park ranger attempted to stop the vehicle, but Lampe ignored both lights and sirens and took off at a high rate of speed northbound on Grant Road. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted in the pursuit and forced Lampe to turn west on Clark Street. After approximately 10 blocks, the Lampe vehicle parked indirectly in the garage of a residence on Maple Street. Officers, upon arriving at the scene shortly after, took Lampe and her passenger, 35-year-old Stacie Renae Schaefer, into custody. Officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from the suspects and illegal narcotics in the vehicle and Schaefer’s bag. Both Lampe and Schaefer were transported to the Carroll County Jail. An unidentified, male child was in the vehicle throughout the incident. Lampe has been charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and eluding, a serious misdemeanor. Schaefer is charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana-first offense, both serious misdemeanors.
