Registration for the Coon Rapids Parks and Rec youth baseball, softball and swim teams is open for one day only today (Thursday). In the past, parents were able to sign their children up for the summer programs through mail or dropping off forms in person, but now registration must be completed at the Coon Rapids Municipal Building from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Baseball and softball teams are open for boys and girls in kindergarten through seventh grade. Children and young adults from five to 18 years old can sign up for the swim team. There is a registration fee of $20 per child up to a maximum of $50 per family. All individuals interested in being involved in the program should register, regardless of their ability to pay, thanks to scholarships generously provided by the Coon Rapids First United Methodist Church.
