St. Anthony Regional Hospital has expended its Mental Health Services Department with the addition of an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Cyndy Johnson. Johnson will be serving the needs of outpatient mental health clients and specializes in medication management, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia and behavioral concerns. She will also be providing care to patients in the inpatient unit. Johnson said she is excited about the opportunity to serve this important health sector in the Carroll Community. “I am impressed with St. Anthony’s comprehensive treatment program, which encourages patients to get involved in groups and develop coping skills,” she said. It is her goal to utilize her experience and education to enhance this quality-care program. Johnson has nearly 30 years of experience in mental health services and she completed her lifelong dream of becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner by completing her post-masters certificate at the University of South Alabama in December of 2016. She and her husband Mark, a retired firefighter, have two children and two grandchildren. Johnson enjoys spending time with family, gardening, cooking and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
