Three teacher resignations were presented at the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meeting this week. Marlene Nissen, a teacher librarian, is ending her 34-year career with the district at the end of this school year. Two science teachers will also be ending their employment when the year concludes. Kent Muyskens, a high school educator, and Tim Austin, the 7th grade instructor, turned in their resignations before Monday. Muyskens has served with the district for four years and Austin for 11 years. These resignations were submitted to the board for consideration before the collective bargaining law changes were implemented, and Superintendent Rob Cordes indicated they did not play a factor in the teachers’ decision. The board approved to accept all resignations with four in favor and none against. One board member, Duane Horsley was absent from the vote.
