Frosty Roadways Responsible For Single-vehicle Accident South Of Lake City This Morning

At approximately 8:05 a.m. this morning (Tuesday), a coating of frost on Jennings Ave., just north of the Carroll and Calhoun County lines and south of Lake City, resulted in a single vehicle accident. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to find that 25-year-old Cassondra Kay Blankenship of Scranton had lost control of a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu and began to slide sideways. She then struck a field driveway and entered the east ditch. Blankenship was transported to Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City by Calhoun County Emergency Medical Services. There was an estimated $1,000 in damages to the Malibu.
