Beginning today, Feb 1, through April 18, the AARP Foundation is offering free tax assistance and preparation for Iowans through its Tax-Aide program. Now in its 49th year, the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service is offered to anyone, especially those 50 and older, who cannot afford a tax preparation service. Tax-Aide is offered to AARP members and non-members with 5,000 locations in neighborhood libraries, malls, banks, community centers and senior centers nationwide. For those in the Carroll Area, the services will be offered through the Carroll Elderbridge Agency On Aging, located at 603 North West Street in Carroll.
