The Carroll High School (CHS) Booster Club has offered to fund nearly two-thirds of the cost for a new, retractable batting cage in the Adams Elementary School gymnasium. The CCSD Board of Directors reviewed a bid from NGE Inc. for the equipment, and the total amount for the enclosure and lift mechanisms totaled $14,271. The new batting cage, when installed, will hang from the ceiling at Adams, and special padding and rubber baseballs and softballs are used to prevent damage to the flooring. The booster club informed the board they are committed to supplying $10,000 to the total, leaving $4,271 as the district’s responsibility. The board voted to approve the remaining amount left with a vote of four to zero, with board member, Brad Jorgensen, absent.
