The Jefferson Matters: Main Street Tower View Team wants to spread some love this February with the introduction of a Sweetheart Tree on the grounds of the Greene County Courthouse. The tree will be decorated with special doily snowflakes and hearts and the downtown district with hearts that bear a special message. The community is asked to get involved by picking and writing the answer to one of three questions on hearts that will then be dropped at Greene Bean Coffee, the Jefferson Public Library, Homestead Coffee & Bakery and Bunkers Dunkers. The community can share their answers to: Who do you love in Jefferson?; Why do you love Jefferson?; or What do you love in Jefferson? Hearts can be submitted from Monday, Jan. 30 to Tuesday, Feb. 14. The Tower View team will then gather the hearts for display in one of the store windows in the downtown district for the remainder of the month. Everyone is also invited to take a selfie at the Sweetheart Tree and share it on the Jefferson Matters: Main Street Facebook page.
