Lake City resident, Peter Farley, has a very special place in his heart for the Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) healthcare team, and is showing his appreciation for their care through his second donation in two years. Following a heart attack, Farley enrolled in the cardiac rehabilitation program at SMCH to strengthen his heart. During his time there, he saw the need to improve the equipment in that department and donated a Nu Step machine in 2014. This year, he once again addressed the cardiac department needs through the donation of a second Nu Step unit. “I’ve had a positive experience with the program and want others to benefit as well,” Farley said. He added that having two machines will allow more people to benefit during their time in cardiac rehab. “A healthy future is the best Christmas gift we can give each patient,” said Megan Huster, director of the department, “and Peter is helping us make that possible.”
