Local law enforcement will be participating in a special sTEP, Special Traffic Enforcement Program, over the Thanksgiving holiday week, and Carroll Chief of Police, Brad Burke, explains the details about this event.
The Iowa Department of Safety and Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau have had a little fun with naming this holiday enforcement program.
Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey, said his staff will be joining in on the sTep effort, and they will be focusing education on seatbelt usage during this week.
Pingrey said they are pleased to see the number of users increase over the years, and these efforts are a big part of the solution.
Carroll County authorities are joining others from across the Iowa in this state-wide safety initiative.
