The Iowa Senate District 6 race ended with Republican incumbent, Mark Segebart, winning the race with 20,186 of the votes to his Libertarian challenger, Nick Serianni’s, 4,039. Segebart was resting after a day in the fields when he heard the news.

He believes the Senate will be able to move bills through much more quickly with Republican control of Iowa’s Congress and the Governor’s Office. Iowa Republicans are holding caucuses on Friday, Nov. 11, to select the majority leader.
