St. Anthony Regional Hospice has opened ordering for their 2016 Tree of Love ornaments. Volunteer coordinator for St. Anthony Hospice, Carmen Schimmer, said this annual event is a way to celebrate the life of loved ones.
Every year, a new ornament is selected, always with a faith-based theme, Schimmer said. There are several different ways people can place an order.
A $5 donation per ornament is requested. On Sunday, Nov. 20th, they will recognize all those loved ones at their annual Tree of Love ceremony.
All money raised goes for hospice care through St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Hospice Director, Marcia Schaefer, says that they can use a portion of these proceeds to provide services that may not be covered by a patient’s insurance, such as music and massage therapies. She said these are calming and stress-reducing treatment to help patients through a very difficult time. Organizers are requesting that all ornament orders be placed by Thursday, Nov. 17.
