Sac City is continuing negotiations with a land developer to expand housing in the city. The owner of the properties, Brett Harman, wants to create 30 lots south of town and is interested in tying those properties into the existing utility infrastructure. Negotiations are still underway, but details are being worked out on how to providing electricity, water, sewage and roads to the area. Providing those services are predicted to cost around $1.3 million dollars. If negotiations are successful, this would be the first major housing development the city has seen in 30 years. Sac City will have to opportunity to annex the development if negotiations are successful.
