An Audubon man, 44-year-old Verlyn Duane Richardson, has been arrested for a second time this week on drug related charges. On Wednesday, Oct. 12 at approximately 4 a.m., the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 103 Church St. in Audubon and arrested Richardson and 28-year-old Whitney Ann Richardson, of Audubon, as a result of the search. Verlyn Richardson was charged with possession of marijuana, second offense, a serious misdemeanor, and seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Whitney Richardson has been charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, and also with seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Audubon County Jail and held, then released following an appearance before the magistrate. The Audubon Police Department and Audubon County K-9 Unit assisted at the scene. Verlyn Richardson was arrested on Oct. 9 for similar charges after a traffic stop in Brayton.
