The City of Lake View has announced changes to their telecommunications provider and some of those new features are already starting to take effect. The Lake View City Council voted on Monday, Oct. 3 to switch their provider to the Corn Belt Telephone Company based out of Wall Lake. Lake View City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says the city is going to get a number of benefits from switching, one of them being cost.
He says making sure every dollar is well spent is important, but it is critical for community members to be able to communicate with the city government as easily as possible.
More than just email addresses are going to change. Some of the physical aspects of the city’s communication system are going to be part of the switch.
The hardware changes will also bring voicemail and caller-ID to city building, making contacting the city even more convenient. The city council’s next scheduled meeting is Monday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Lake View Municipal Building.
