In a special meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 31, the Greene County Board of Education voted to deny a request to share transportation with Boone for swimming and soccer. The board voted unanimously in the decision, citing recent cuts to staffing and a budget that could not sustain an additional $30,000 in expenses for the proposal. Parents had brought the request with concerns over students driving themselves to and from the practices and games.
