This past May, the Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC), the City of Carroll and the County of Carroll took receipt of their joint effort, the Carroll County Housing Assessment, drafted by RDG Planning and Design of Omaha, Neb. The assessment provided detailed analysis of the needs of each of the communities within the county and made recommendations on the unique track that each one of those should take to improve their housing options. CADC Executive Director, Shannon Landauer, said the housing committee has looked at the report as more than just a document and is utilizing it as a blueprint for communities to use in setting themselves up for future growth. She said the committee has been keeping tabs on what housing is currently available.
The committee is researching what other communities are doing and what is available out there.
The CADC, City of Carroll and Carroll County were equal partners in the development of the $30,000 assessment.
