There will be no shortage of musical acts, performers, displays, vendors and livestock to be seen when this year’s Iowa State Fair gets underway Thursday, Aug. 11. The fair is also, traditionally, a time for elected officials to touch base with their constituents. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst will be doing just that on Saturday, Aug. 13 and again on Monday, Aug. 15 through her attendance at several fair events. On Saturday, she will serve as an honorary chef at the Iowa Pork Producers booth beginning at 12:30 p.m., then at 4 p.m. that afternoon she will take part in the Governor’s charity steer show. On Monday, Ernst will participate in the Veterans Day Parade at 10:45 a.m.
