Anyone in the Manning area, whether or not a patient of Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC), is invited to take part in general wellness screenings during their public Walk-In Wellness Clinic. On Friday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 9 a.m., they will be offering a panel of testing, including cholesterol and metabolic, hemogram information and thyroid screening. Men may also choose to have a PSA test to screen for prostate cancer. The cost will be $30 per person, with an additional $30 for the PSA screening. Test results are then mailed to the attendees as soon as they are available. Shelby Dickson, a health coach and RN at MRHC, said anyone participating will need to fast for eight hours prior to ensure accurate results. Dickson will also be on hand during the event to answer any questions about the testing or general well-being. Appointments are recommended. No insurance is necessary, but payment is required at the time of service.
