We have received word that there is a change in the time of the “friendraiser” walk being held in Manning on Thursday, May 26, to 11 a.m. Area agencies are celebrating Older Americans Month with the walks and a theme of “Blazing a Trail for Aging.” The Elderbridge Agency on Aging is hosting the Carroll County walk. Participants will be asked to check-in at the Warren Timmerman Shelter House in Manning City Park at 9 a.m. A short program will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the walkers taking to the paths at 11 a.m. According to Elderbridge Co-Executive Director, Donell Doering, this is a way for communities to come together in a free event that celebrates the strength and vitality of our older Americans and raises awareness on aging issues. Prior to participation, everyone will be required to sign a registration/release form, which are available by contacting Lila Schroeder at 712-655-2061 or at the Elderbridge Carroll offices located at 603 N. West Street.
