The East Sac County Industrial Technology Department had 23 students participate in the 28th Annual South East Polk Industrial Technology Exposition on Friday, May 13 in Pleasant Hill. Their 38 projects in the material processing and computer aided drafting (CAD) category competed against similar projects from schools across the region, including 3A and 4A districts. Students were judged on specific criteria and awarded blue, red or white ribbons. Those receiving a blue ribbon in their division were then placed in a medal round. The competition, which is open to all students in the state of Iowa, is made possible through many different sponsorships, including the Rotary Clubs of Iowa. Students who have projects in the South-East Polk Exposition can apply for a Des Moines area Rotary Club scholarship. This year four scholarships for a total of $2,500 were awarded, including a $500 scholarship to East Sac County senior, Ian Kolb. A full listing of the exposition results can be found below.
