Carroll Fire Department Responds To Smell Of Smoke At Maple River Residence

The Carroll Fire Department received a report of the smell of smoke in a residence at 17715 Ivy Ave. in Maple River at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning (Tuesday). They responded to find a very light haze of smoke in the house, but could not isolate the source of the smell. After an investigation, it was determined the dryer plug had the appearance of having overheated. Before turning the property back over to the residents, firefighters conducted a thermal imaging of the structure. No fire or smoke damage was reported and the fire department was on the scene for approximately one hour. According to the Carroll County Assessor’s office, the home is owned by Merlin Loew, and is on contract to Chris C. Edwards.
