Two area students were among 50 from across a seven-state region to receive the 2016 AKSARBEN AG Leaders Scholarships. Lakota Larson of Jefferson and Ward Umbaugh of Adair will each receive $2,000 of the $100,000 total awarded in recognition of their contributions to agricultural traditions. The AG Leaders Scholarship program recognizes the passion and commitment of high school seniors who have participated for at least three years in the AKSARBEN 4-H stock show, but who have not had the opportunity to participate in the Purple Ribbon Auction.
