City crews in Lake View were in the process of flushing the city’s water system late this week and on Friday, May 6 the system experienced a cross connection with a private well. Officials are recommending citizens boil their water until further notice in the event of a bacterial contamination. The possibility of a cross contamination does only affect a portion of the city and includes the south-east part of the lake between 910 East Shore Drive and the east side of 30 Acres Park. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the bacterial testing results are returned. Lake View customers in the outlined areas are asked to boil their water prior to drinking or any cooking while water used for bathing and similar activates is considered safe for use.
