A pickup pulling a dual anhydrous ammonia tank jackknifed along J Avenue near 290th Street at around 2:56 pm on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred near 290th Street when a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 22 year old Kolan Michael Doph of Gowrie and owned by Landus Cooperative, was slowing for a stop sign when the hitch pin failed. The failure caused the dual-anhydrous tanks to strike the rear of the pickup which then jackknifed coming to a rest on its side in the west ditch. Dolph was not injured in the accident, but the pickup received an estimated $10,000 of damage. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
