St. Anthony Nurse, Hogan, Recognized As One Of Iowa’s Great Nurses

St. Anthony Regional Hospital’s obstetrics nurse manager, Pat Hogan, has been recognized for her meaningful contributions to her patients with the 100 Great Iowa Nurses award. Hogan, the fifth St. Anthony nurse to receive the award, was selected from a record-breaking pool of 500 nominations submitted from across the state in three categories: humanity; leadership; and contributions to the profession. Hogan has been with St. Anthony for 35 years, working two years on the medical-surgical floor before obtaining a position in obstetrics, which she says is her dream job. Hogan has a passion for continuing education and has earned certifications in patient obstetrics, fetal monitoring, breast feeding and child birth education. She says she loves her job, loves what she does and is overwhelmed to be honored for that. “I am fortunate to work with staff that values professional development and growth,” she said. “And I am also privileged to be a part of our patients’ lives.” This year’s 100 Great Iowa Nurses will be honored during National Nurses Week in a reception Sunday, May 1 at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines. Previous St. Anthony award recipients include: Darlene Rueter; Katie Towers; Cheri Thuelen; and Tammy Roetman.
